Swiss Humanity is an association dedicated to giving a voice to those affected by the crisis in Gaza. The organisation works tirelessly to highlight the humanitarian catastrophe and maintain political pressure for concrete action. Their old WordPress website had become outdated, with no recent updates, making it difficult to maintain and lacking flexibility. This was the perfect opportunity to switch to Webflow, a platform that is easier to manage, faster to update, and more adaptable to their evolving needs.
From WordPress to Webflow: A Flexible, Future-Proof Platform
The previous Swiss Humanity website was running on WordPress but had not received updates for a long time, resulting in an outdated and hard-to-maintain platform. We recommended a migration to Webflow, offering greater flexibility, built-in security, and ease of content management without the need for constant technical maintenance. Starting with wireframes, we redefined the site’s structure to highlight key content and ensure a streamlined user experience. Building on Petra Balmer’s refreshed branding, featuring a heart symbolising humanitarian care, we developed a modular Figma design system that gives the association full control over its digital presence.
Minimal GSAP Animations to Keep the Focus on Content
While animations can enhance user engagement, Swiss Humanity’s mission demanded a more restrained approach. We reduced GSAP-driven animations and interactions to the bare essentials, ensuring that visitors remain fully focused on the content. At the heart of the site lies a powerful CMS, allowing the team to quickly publish media reviews and their own news stories, prominently displayed on the homepage. This structure ensures that important updates reach the audience without distraction, keeping the conversation alive and relevant.
In times of crisis, every voice matters. Swiss Humanity’s new platform ensures that vital stories are heard, shared, and acted upon.
