Website relaunch for a humanitarian aviation organization on Webflow, with structured CMS migration and precise SEO carry-over

As a humanitarian airline, MAF uses its fleet of 116 aircraft to fly where aid would otherwise fail to reach, serving remote regions across the Global South. The existing website ran on WordPress and had grown over many years: content, editorial processes, and structure had become difficult to maintain and evolve. What was needed was a modern, low-maintenance platform for Switzerland and MAF's international partner organizations, one that clearly and accessibly communicates the organization's work to donors, authorities, and the wider public – without losing the search engine optimization built up over the years in the process of switching platforms.

Webflow platform built on an existing Figma design system
The new website was built on Webflow based on an already defined Figma design system. Rather than a full redesign, the focus was on a clean technical translation of existing components – including multi-variant text blocks such as MAF's core message "Where roads end, we keep flying," implemented as a reusable component in several variants across the site. Modules are not tied to a fixed location: they can be placed freely on any page and adapted to context through props. Each module is additionally available in three color variants, selectable directly from a dropdown in Webflow Designer, with no need to touch the underlying structure. Close alignment between the Figma reference and the existing Webflow component structure ensures that new content fits seamlessly into the established system rather than creating a parallel logic.

Content carry-over and SEO continuity
A key part of the project was migrating existing content into the new Webflow CMS. Page content, already finalized within the Figma design system, was copied over directly and manually into Webflow. For the news articles, an AI-assisted approach was used: all articles were compiled, including all relevant categories, into a single CSV file, which was then imported into Webflow in one batch. In parallel, a full 301 redirect strategy covering over 130 URLs was built from the existing WordPress sitemaps: each redirect was individually assessed and rated by confidence level, so that link equity and search engine rankings would carry over cleanly to the new platform.

A modern, editorially easy-to-maintain platform that lets MAF Switzerland communicate its work in the world's most remote places online as clearly as it does in the air.
